SINGLES GOING STEADY: "TUBULAR BELLS" BY MIKE OLDFIELD

Seriously, who would have thought this song, which became famous as the theme to The Exorcist, would actually be THIS sophisticated? Indeed, it's as sophisticated as it is brilliant and it's as brilliant as it is timeless.   If you haven't heard this before, this is a long one, but it's as involving as any half hour TV show you'll ever watch.  Mike Oldfield plays every instrument.  He is the creator of every noise and what he creates displays both his remarkable instrumental proficiency and his gifted sense of melody and harmony.  Due to the movie's popularity, The single version of "Tubular Bells" hit number three on The Billboard Hot 100.  It was also awarded a Grammy for Best Instrumental Composition (Other than jazz) in 1974.  Enjoy.
